Spring has arrived in the Mosier Valley and the hills are glowing with cherry blossoms. Grape buds are beginning to swell, our cows are devouring new clover in the pasture, and there is fresh, abundant energy on the farm.

Of the many projects we have been working to launch this spring is a new digital experience for our members. Beginning this week, you can view your upcoming Coterie bundle, update your shipping and billing details, and add wines to your order. This improved interface allows for easier access to important membership information and will make it possible for us to roll out additional benefits to you later in the year.

Our first Release of 2021 is the culmination of meticulous effort in our fields and cellar and comes to life through the energetic expressions of each variety and incomparable estate blend. This bundle is Mosier-centric, comprised of compelling new expressions of wines you know. This release is the resultof an additional year’s learning our soils and our vines, insights gained in the cellar, and the distinct voice of a new year’s growing season. We are so excited for you to taste these new wines.

Spring Release Wines

Beginning with estate whites, our second vintage of Albariño reveals a honeyed, saline quality accompanied by lime and green melon. With a short time on skins, this wine is a more linear and focused expression than its sister from our home block vineyard.

The Blanco represents one of the most compelling wines from our Mosier Hills site to date. This expansive wine shows notes of orange blossom, citrus fruits, and meadow herbs, and is as refreshing as it is persistent. Elevage in a concrete egg contributes to its textural complexity.

Our new release Grenache is a delicate, ethereal interpretation of our hillside vineyard, weaving lightness with density and concentration. Also seeing time in concrete with partial whole cluster fermentation, this wine is characterized by cinnamon and bright red fruits of strawberry and cherry.

Lifted and refreshing, this vintage’s Mencia reminds us of a cool vintage in Ribeira Sacra. With extraordinary aromatics, including transparent red fruit of pomegranate, spice of bergamot, and crushed gravels, the 2019 Mencia is a truly spectacular expression of creative novelty in the world of wine. Elevage in large format barrels preserves its freshness. Of scant acres of its kind planted in North America, we are proud to release this charismatic wine unlike any you have tasted before. Remaining the only domestic bottling of this variety that we are aware of, our Mencia is an inaugural peek into its promising future in the new world.

We are also thrilled to include our Pinot Noir from the Oak Ridge Vineyard in the foothills of Mount Adams, which has become a beloved staple of the wines we produce. This wine exhibits fresh and exotic spice and red fruit aromas, a textured palate, and a persistent finish. One of the most requested wines at our cellar door, this vintage is amazing for its levity, beauty and purity. Made in a quintessential Gorge style, it is enjoyable on its own or at the table.

All of our wines are made with exacting production techniques at our winery in Mosier, Oregon. Our Mosier Hills Estate wines have also been certified as Biodynamic® Wines through Demeter International, which qualifies them as pure and unadulterated expressions of the sites that we farm. We are thrilled for you to be the first to taste this new vintage.

Thank you for sharing our journey. We can’t wait to share these new wines with you.
