Winegrower Series Session VI: From Vine to Bottle – Hand Bottling & Celebrating Our Inaugural Coterie Winegrower Series Cohort

Your Godello finds its home in a bottle!  A year of shepherding it to this moment culminates with a morning of bottling and labeling, and afterwards, celebrating our efforts.  A custom wine label, designed by one of your cohort members, will commemorate your participation and what we’ve created together. This experience brings to life our own passion for winegrowing, shared in a personal way.  We have loved every minute of this journey with you and will cherish memories made with this inaugural Winegrowers Series cohort!
See you Saturday, March 16th at 8:45 am!

Winegrower Series Session V: Fermentation Management & Juice Analysis

The cellar is a buzzing hive during “crush,” and we want you to be a part of it!  In this session, we’ll assess the progress of fermentations by chemical analysis of your cuvée of Godello, along with several others in the cellar.  Paul and Steven will share what they consider when monitoring fermentations and how they manage their development, including temperature control, size of the fermenter, and lees management. Together, we’ll explore how winemaking at Analemma is both an art and a science.
See you Saturday, October 14th at 8:45 am!

Winegrower Series Session IV: Hand-Harvesting, Field-Sorting, and Pressing

Although there’s magic happening in the vineyard year-round, the excitement around harvest is unparalleled!  For this special session, we’ll be joined by Analemma’s Estate Foreman, Ramón Ibarra, to hand-pick in the vineyard.  As a cohort, we’ll hand-sort, carefully curating the clusters for our Godello bottling before heading into the cellar for destemming and pressing. To top it all off, we’ll share a harvest lunch with tastes of Godello juice fresh from the press pan!
See you Saturday, September 9th at 7:45 am!

Winegrower Series Session III: Brix and Ripeness Monitoring – Pre-Harvest Sampling Activity

Veraison is happening in the vineyard, and it’s almost time to start sampling!
We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, August 26th bright and early at 7:45am.
The links below discuss the importance of monitoring fruit maturity and assessing ripeness prior to harvest. This will be important information for us to gather so that we can best approximate the levels of ripeness and acidity that we decided on as a cohort in Session II. Following this session, we’ll have a better idea of when our Godello harvest date will be!

Winegrower Series Session II: Winemaking Style–A Comparative Tasting of Godello with our Winemakers

After such an incredible first session we can’t wait to reconvene for Session II on Saturday, June 10th.
The links below will help guide you through factors that become important decision points for each year’s vintage. With the learning from this session, you will gain an important understanding of our realm of influence in winemaking and how we can implement this knowledge in the wine that we make together as a cohort.
You will receive a Tasting Rubric to analyze the wines we taste with the above criteria and to record other relevant observations.
